Role Summary

The Mine Surface Operations General Supervisor is responsible for the safe daily management of all surface operations.

Main Responsibilities | Activities

•    Provide quality safety leadership for the mine site and ensure the safety of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors, as well as compliance with MSHA and all other safety regulations, policies, and procedures
•    Ensure the mine operates within all regulatory permits and standards and maintains the highest level of environmental compliance
•    Manage the general operation of the Surface Batch Plant to ensure batch plant efficiency
•    Manage the general operation of the surface COSA, North Laydown, TDRSA, and general site clean up and organization.
•    Monitor and manage production equipment needs; work with mobile maintenance department to ensure increased equipment availability
•    Drive initiatives to optimize existing business systems, processes, and equipment to improve the overall performance of the operations
•    Manage costs according to annual budgets, maintain accurate cost reporting, and report variances monthly
•    Monitor and report on project progress, implementation schedules, resources required, and participate in tours
•    Other duties as assigned
 

Education, Qualifications and Experience

•    B.S. Degree in Mining Engineering and/or equivalent combination of experience and training
•    10 - 12 years of experience in mining operations and/or engineering
•    Minimum of 3-5 years in an surface operation’s supervisory role or technical services leadership role
•    Strong computer skills preferred
•    Experience with SAP preferred

•    Participate in HSEC training provided to them
•    Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
