Role Summary
The Mine Trainer is responsible for ensuring mining personnel receive the knowledge and hands-on training necessary to work safely and productively in an underground mining environment.
Main Responsibilities | Activities
• Develop and deliver training programs focused on the safe and efficient operation of underground mining equipment to both experienced and inexperienced operators.
• Conduct regular field visits to access training needs, identify skill gaps, and build responsive training plans.
• Complete competency evaluations for all underground mining personnel.
• Develop training packages for underground equipment and processes.
• Provide ongoing mentoring and coaching to employees on underground mining best practices.
• Establish and maintain employee accurate training records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of underground hard-rock mining experience required.
• Experience in developing and delivering training content.
• Strong understanding of all underground mining equipment and operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate training sessions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong organization, leadership, and team building skills.

HSEC Accountabilities
Everyone in the workplace is responsible for his or her own safety and for the safety of their co-workers. • Report, as soon as practicable to their Manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work area
• Avoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omission
• Only use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn’t cause undue community impacts.
• Participate in HSEC training provided to them
• Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
