Title:  Optimization Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for identifying and coordinating the completion of optimization projects throughout the mine site.

Main Responsibilities | Activities

• Actively pursue the development of new ideas and process improvements to improve overall efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase productivity.
• Collect and evaluate improvement ideas from site personnel while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Undertake continuous improvement projects related to mining or maintenance activities as directed and actively participate in their completion.
• Perform cost benefit analysis on improvement projects
• Conduct project evaluations on mine improvement projects and present results to management.
• Support various departments with the completion and reporting of projects.
• Actively engage with mining crews and present short interval KPI’s during 5:30am shift lineups.
• Start time for this role will be 5am, working on a 4/3 schedule.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Engineering; appropriate combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree requirements.
• 0-2 years of professional experience (technical and/or operations); underground experience preferred but not required.
• Strong computer skills and previous experience with mining software preferred. (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan)
• Strong analytical abilities along with good communication skills
• Strong Project Management skills required.
