Role Summary

General Description: The underground Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating shift through month plan work to ensure that the mine achieves the weekly target KPIs

Main Responsibilities | Activities

Key Responsibilities:

• Recognize health and safety hazards and correct them as soon as possible.
• Conduct frequent workplace inspections.
• Coordinate with the on-shift mine supervisor to safely complete necessary underground mining operations that meet the weekly targets.
• Coordinate with Eagle technical services to ensure compliance with mine design, mine planning, and ground support.
• Coordinate with the mobile maintenance department to ensure equipment performs per plan.
• Ensure tools and supplies are kept in good working order and inventories remain intact.
• Perform weekly powder counts and report on counts to supervisor.
• Coordinate special projects with mine supervisor to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Assist in developing daily plans that support weekly mine plans.
• Occasionally use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other mechanical tools and equipment to assist operations
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Education, qualifications, and experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in the mining industry, preferably in an underground operations environment
• Computer literacy in Microsoft office, Deswik OPS
• Good communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and manage conflicting priorities
• Good knowledge of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements
